Printing My Digital Studio Cards at Home

Don’t have time to send in your card to be professionally printed by Stampin’ Up!s printer? Need that card today? Printing a card front to back on one sheet of cardstock is possible on your home printer. Just follow these guidelines!

Here are the steps for printing a 5 x 7 Portrait Card (More instructions coming for other sizes soon)

Quick Tip: to make a multi page card using the same basic template as a starter:
- choose your card format (I used Designer Christmas Jingle 5 x 7 Card 3)
- on 'Page arrangement' window, click on the 'add page' as many times as you want OR- once you're in your project, you can right click on the image you want and 'duplicate page' (Note- if you're printing with SU's printer, it will ony allow 3 pages, the back will be blank (white with MDS & SU logo)
- Then I deleted whatever elements I didn't want on pages 2 & 3, added photos, text and stamps.

  1. Choose Print. Select ONLY the Cover image
  2. Click the Advanced Button
  3. On Paper Orientation, choose Landscape (ignore any messages... we'll fix later)
  4. On Image Layout Adjustment, choose Custom Layout
    In Top, Bottom enter 0.75"
In Right & Left enter 0.50"
  5. Print that page on whisper white cardstock
  6. Chose print again, this time select only the inside two pages
  7. On Image Layout Adjustment, choose Custom Layout
it should remember what you entered above- In Top & Bottom 0.75" and Right & Left 0.50"
  8. Click on Contact Sheet (button)
  9. Click on Back (button) - do not choose the OK or cancel from the bottom right
  10. Under Number of Images per sheet- make sure it's 2, then change the spacing for both vertical & horizontal to 0.00"
  11. Now we'll fix the size... Under Size of Image area, select 5 x 7 (or enter 5 x 7 in the custom area). You should see your two inside pages looking good
  12. Print that page on the backside of the original one... make sure you know which way to put the paper in...
  13. Trim the top, bottom and sides, fold and VOILA!
NOTES & HINTS: it will give you all sorts of 'this image size won't work' messages- ignore them. You may have to re-select some options. If you want to start over with the default print options, close your project and re-open it. You could easily print a cover and a back (in the example above, the back of the card is blank)- just use steps 6-12 twice!
