Last month we celebrated the birthdays of both our sons. They are two years apart and they were born with one week between their birthdays. Needless to say this can be such a hectic time of year! Somehow I managed to squeeze in time to make cards for both the kids. As I was making them, I thought to myself...this is so silly - they won't even care!! Boy was I wrong! My youngest son was so excited about his card I had trouble getting him to open his gifts!
The inspiration for his card came from - well - the Stampin' Up Idea Book and Catalogue of course. I am always referring to the catalogue for ideas. This little project uses the Paper Piecing technique. It's a basic technique that involves cutting out and layering images. I used the Choo-Choo Stamp Set to create the card. First I stamped the engine in black and then I cleaned it and stamped it again in Bermuda Bay. I then cut the second image out and positioned it on top of the black one with Stampin' Dimensionals, so that the black wheels peek out from underneath the Bermuda Bay engine. I also made a little train track using the matching Right on Track Wheel.
