Wrap it up with the Stampin' Around Wheel

I don't know about you, but when I get my goodies from Stampin' Up! I excitedly tear open the box like a kid on Christmas morning. But before I can get to my new toys, I have to pull yards of the brown packing paper out of the box. You can see that there was quite a lot of paper with that came with my Stampin' Up! mini catalogue preorder.

This paper used to clog up my recycling bin but this time after a desperate search for wrapping paper I decided to repurpose the paper from the Stampin' Up! box and make my own.

To create my ecofriendly wrapping paper I used Stampin' Up's Stampin Around Friendly Words Wheel with a Ballet Blue Ink Cartridge.

Then I flattened out my brown packing paper and cut it to the size I wanted. I actually found the wrinkles added character and texture to the paper, but if you wanted to get them out an iron on a low setting would likely do the trick. My designer wrapping paper was done in a matter of seconds by rolling the image diagonally across the packing paper. I didn't worry too much about making the lines perfectly straight, which could easily be done with the Stampin' Around Wheel Guide (104834). Finally I wrapped the gift with my paper and embellished it with ribbon and a tag.

No gift would be complete without a card, so I fashioned this cute card using Kraft (107070) coloured cardstock because it reminded me of the packing paper. I used the Simple Friendship (113397) stamp set and embellished the swirls with pearls. As you can see the Friendly words wheel was used at the bottom of the card and this time I used the wheel guid to keep my image straight.

So next time you place your Stampin' Up! order, you will receive, at no extra cost to you, free packing/wrapping paper! Don't throw it away!
