Demo Business Board

We've all seen sample boards displaying beautiful cards and scrapbook pages- but what about creating a Demonstrator Business Board? The left side shows information about becoming a demonstrator- there is space for the brochure and a copy of page 8 from the new catalog or the recruiting flyer or specials. The right side is for Hostesses- info about booking a party, hostess benefits and a booking coupon. The middle section has information about any current promotions, current decor and mini catalogs, wish lists and stampers club information. I used page protectors cut down to the right sizes adhered to my board to make it easy to switch out the information as needed (see the bottom right of the picture- I left one empty).

2010 New Stampin Up Colors Collection Sample Charts

Here is another color stampin' up! inventory sample chart which I created for a fellow demonstrator. She wanted space for a punched sample of cardstock and DSP, marker, ink, ribbon and other accessories. They will be mounted on a smaller display board as a reference. The Charts are almost full 8 1/2 x 11 (landscape) pages, one for each of the four color collections and the In colors. Click here to download your FREE copy from googledocs (no signin required!)

Enjoy!

Technique #3 Acrylic Stamping

Acrylic Stamping
Using a sponge paintbrush, stroke white acrylic paint onto your cardstock. Let dry. Stamp outline image with Stazon Ink. Use Markers to color - it will go on darker and dry lighter.

This summer we'll be sharing all of the 120 techniques from our Rolodex Technique Box. These instructions are those from our formatted technique cards- they are meant to be a quick reference, not comprehensive step by step instructions which you can get from so many websites. Print the instructions, cut out with your Bigshot address die and add a sample (like above) on the back. Enjoy!

Technique #1 Faux Alligator

Alligator (Faux)

Cover entire piece of dark cardstock with Versamark ink. Pour clear embossing powder over cardstock. Using the bone folder draw not quite straight lines vertically and horizontally to create the 'skin' grooves. Heat cardstock using heat tool until embossing powder turns glossy.

Storing Scrap Cardstock

Here's the way I organized my scrap papers- I don't have so many, and I like them to be portable, so I use 12 x 12 page protectors with my new individual color labels and store them in 12 x 12 storage cases from my local scrapbook store. I can quickly find colors for mats and accents without having to cut a new page!

I've got two cases- the first one has Brights, Subtles and Regals, the second one has In Colors, Neutrals and other Cardstock (Naturals ivory, etc)

I'm trying to figure out how to attach my color family labels to the outside so I'll know what's in each case.

Enjoy!

Display Boards for Open House

I have always loved display boards for my open house- this year I had to almost start from scratch; if the stamp set had not retired, the paper had... LOL! We'll, there's something to be said for starting over! I decided to copy my good friend Deb's board in design. She has all her samples in cellophane envelopes or bags which are velcroed on to the board. I found that the large cello bags, cut in half are super. The pocket part is great for landscape cards (leaving the top open so I can switch the cards easily, and the other part is super for portrait cards. I taped some of them shut if the cards were too wiggly.

Here's how I did it-

1. purchase a black display foamboard- available from Staples or sometimes even Walmart
2. purchase stick on velcro round dots (available from the dollar store)
3. sort all the cards and pick which ones were 'worthy of the board'
4. arrange them on the board with any other accents or decor that you want
4. place the cards in cellophane envelopes or bags and seal them or tape them closed from the back if desired
5. place both halfs of the velcro sticky circles centered near the top third of the back of the card
6. Flip em over and press them down to attach them to your board!

Stand back and admire! When you create that even cooler card, you can easily pull off a card (leaving half the velcro on the board), open your cellophane and replace your card!
Enjoy,

Organizing Stamping Sponges

I love sponging, but I do not like smudged, mixed up colors. My previous solution was cumbersome to attach. Since I had to 'retire' a bunch of my sponges, I figured a new, cleaner solution was in order.

I used my round tab labels (see previous post) I created in MDS - isn't this nice and easy? Cut your sponges into 6 or 8 pieces fold the printed label and staple. Store in an extra stamp case and you'll always have the right color sponge to grab.

Now, I'm off to costco to buy another ink cartridge for my printer because as you see- night of navy is not looking very night of navy ish!! LOL. I'll get another picture up when I'm done!

Wish List with New 2010-2011 Catalog index

More things for my open house! Here is a pdf document with a wish list and an index for the new 2010-2011 catalog (it's the Canadian version). There's room at the top right for you to add your own contact information! Contact me if you want an editable copy- neither scribd or google docs likes my word formatting!

I've uploaded these to google docs- are they easier to access? Let me know if you prefer scribd or google docs!
